If you all of a sudden get blinking red lights on your Epson 1400 or C88 Printer. Or alternately blinking red and green lights on the Epson 1280.

The printer will freeze up, and won't let you do anything. Don't fret, it is probably just the internal Waste Ink Counter which can be reset. For older printers other than the 1400, you can download this Service Utility and reset the counter. (There is a caution about this reset) The counter is there for a purpose. Epson wants you to take the printer to a service person and have the waste ink pad changed out. The counter estimates when the pad should be full, and that is why it stops the printer. If you reset the counter without replacing the pad, ink could overflow and run out of the bottom of the printer or short out the printer.
