If your Epson 1400 starts alternately blinking red lights the the paper and ink buttons, then your waste ink pad counter is probably signaling that it is "full", and needs to be reset. When you do a head cleaning on the 1400 printer, the ink is deposited into the bottom of the printer to a pad that soaks up the ink and holds it. The counter is there to prevent the ink from overflowing and running out of the printer or shorting out an electrical component in the printer. The pad should be changed out, and should be done by a printer repairman. You can reset the counter and continue printing with a free reset utility for the 1400. Contact a JP Sublimation Specialist to have them send you the utility.
